District Science fair! He wasn't chosen to move on to the next level, but we are proud of him and all his hard work! It was a good experience for him.

The same day as the science fair we had a pipe burst! It was crazy trying to get Kydan all packed and ready to go as well as get the flood taken care of! :0) We're thankful for home insurance!

I was so glad that the elementary sang for the parents in the morning and in the afternoon. With teaching preschool in the morning I have missed out on some fun things. So I was excited to be able to go hear them sing! Ceanna was front and center, it was super easy to see her and take her picture.

Kydan on the other hand was pushed in this tiny corner and I couldn't see him at all, no matter where I was! This was the best picture I could get of him! It was like trying to find Waldo! :0)

Since this year Thanksgiving was spent in Fillmore, we cut down a tree there. Actually it was just Kydan and Jon who went this year! They picked out a nice full tree. It was three skinny trees together to make one, giving it character!

Paysen got invited to a birthday party and when we were getting ready to go he said, "Mom I need to look fancy to go to the party" I was a little taken back and said, "Okay, we'll find a nice shirt and jeans." That's not what Paysen considered fancy he wanted a track suit! I just thought he was being so stinkin cute that we took a trip to walmart to find him his "fancy outfit!" After he picked out his outfit he told me he needed to look fancy and handsome so he said, "Mohawks are fancy." So with his new track outfit and mohawk he was ready for the party....lookin fancy and handsome! :0)

Kydan has been playing flag football. It has been fun to watch, these boys are at a good age and have such a sense of humor!

First an expander to widen his mouth now braces! He picked orange and black rubber-bands of course! He looks so grown up! :0) He gets points to trade in for prizes when he wears his orthodontists shirt to his appointments. I think it is funny that the orthodontist name is Dr. Payne! :0)

It has become our annual tradition to go to frightmares to celebrate Steph, Cory and Marlee's birthday! This year it was perfect weather and was of course super fun! Matt and Nikki were even able to make a flight in to join in on the fun!

We made a trip to Idaho for the annual Rett Syndrome volleyball tournament. This year another company teamed up with my sister Steph to help raise more money. Clint Black's brother Kevin was also there for a concert. He lost a daughter to Rett Syndrome. The theme this year was "Fight like a girl". Besides the volleyball tournament they had free bounce houses, rock climbing and face painting! It was perfect weather and a fun day!

Ceanna's Baptism

I can't believe that Ceanna has reached the age to be baptized! It seems like just yesterday when she was so tiny! We were so excited, and enjoyed all the family members that were able to come and share this day with her!

We decided to check out Lavender Farm Days!

This year we spent 4th of July in Fillmore again. We always have a lot of fun with our cousins and love dressing up! This year Ceanna bought a can of blue spray paint and was kind enough to let everyone use some!

I can't believe how fast time flies! I think back when Paysen was born and I remember being so swollen! I had to wear support hose and everything! His labor and delivery went well. And I had so much energy after that I took him to all the fourth of July festivities! I didn't want to be left out!

Aunt Katie came up for some classes which meant we got to spend some fun times with our cousins, Ryan, Reagan, Revyn and Ronin! :0) We made sidewalk paint out of cornstarch, water and food coloring! Super easy and fun!

We decided to try out the Oquirrh lake in Daybreak. It was really cool, just like a mini beach. We had fun playing in the water for about ten minutes before a worker came and told us they have new rules this year and you aren't allowed to play in the water! He said we could play in the sand though. What?! That's crazy! We had a hard time keeping the kids in the sand! Oh well we had fun while it lasted!

Around the Utah valley at the beginning of summertime each city has their pride days, with parades and carnivals!

Waiting for the Saratoga Springs parade to start. We were at the beginning of the parade route and all the kids on the float were anxious to throw out candy, resulting in massive amounts of candy being thrown at us! We didn't bring any bags and the kids grew tired of picking up all the candy! We had to yell at them to pick it up! Who has to do that?! It was a fun parade.

I wanted to point out Teegan and his hat in this picture. Teegan is our hat boy. He LOVES this hat and has worn it non-stop! It is like his binky! Seriously, we have to sneak it off of him when he is sleeping and when he wakes up he puts it right on! We have to hide it on Sundays and yes there is fits going to church without it! :0)

Since Saratoga Springs is a small town, the carnival was small with no rides. Luckily Orem was having their carnival so we headed to theirs!

Paysen had used up all his tickets and was throwing a fit because he wanted to ride on this with Teegan. I told him I had no more but if he wanted to ride he would have to ask the worker. Surprisingly, the worker let him on! I guess batting your eyes a little and looking pathetic works every once in a while!

Watching Paysen play soccer isn't the only entertaining sport to watch.....there's also t-ball!

Paysen is such a goof ball. T-ball has a lot of standing around time and Paysen just can't handle it! He's out in the field pretending to pitch, slide, and doing jump spins! Then he lays in the grass and plays dead! I have to yell, "no treats for Paysen" to try and get him up!

His mitt is usually on his head. He even batted with it on and ran the bases!

What a character!

Kydan, Ceanna, Teegan and I made a trip up to Idaho to visit our new cousin Paislee! Jon and Paysen went and visited Grandma and Grandpa Adams. We had a lot of fun chillin in Idaho! It was windy and rainy at times but we enjoyed being able to spend time with the Newtons that's all that mattered! Kydan and Ceanna also got to play with their Idaho best friends, so they had a blast.

Ceanna is so excited to have another girl cousin--they are like sisters to her. Paislee is such a doll! She really looks like one in this pic!

Lucky for us Monday's weather was supposed to be nice and Grandma Rosie was off work, so we headed to the zoo!

This was Ceanna's first season since she was 5 and we were grateful she didn't spend the season chasing butterflies this time! :0) She ran around and had fun! I was nervous that someone would kick her little skinny legs and they would break! I guess shin guards work even on skinny legs! :0) I remember taking a team pic, however it must have gotten erased ;0( Video clip of Ceanna being goalie!

Kydan played a good season this year. He hasn't played for several years. This year he made a lot of his team goals and made a lot of assists. Unfortunately we never had the camera out for his goals but we got some of his assists. The first video you can't really see but he kicked it for the goal and just missed, but opened up a clear shot for his teammate. The second video Kydan will probably hate me for but a girl twice his size totally knocks him down! However she stops and is apologizing and Kydan gets up and goes! :0) Kydan you may be small but you are fast!

Paysen was so entertaining this year! He was fun to watch, however spent most of his time rolling on the ground! I missed his last game so unfortunately no pics! Up next for Paysen....T-ball!

Ceanna turned 8!

May 11th 2002 was the day our miracle daughter was born, three months early at 26 weeks! She was 1 lb. 10 oz. and 13 inches long! I had placenta previa and was on bed rest since 12 weeks. I had really good care, lots of help from friends and family, and a sweet boy, Kydan that made the long days pass by a little easier. At 24 weeks I was admitted to the hospital because I was bleeding and contracting. After lots of meds to slow the contractions I was told I would stay at the hospital for the rest of my pregnancy! However, I only lasted two more weeks. We had been fasting and praying to keep Ceanna in my belly as long as possible. One night I got an impression that it was time for her to come. This didn't make any sense. The best thing for her was to stay in my tummy. I was reminded of the scripture in psalms which goes something like, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understandings, in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths. I knew that I needed to pray but was so scared. I called Jon and told him my impressions. Finally around 1 am I got the courage to talk to my Heavenly Father. I told Him that I wanted what was best for Ceanna and if it was her time to come then let her come just let her be okay and keep me calm and strong through it all. At 2 am I had a gush and started hemorrhaging. I had to have an emergency c-section of course because my placenta was in the way. I had no epidural or anything, I had passed out from loss of blood. The doctor said Ceanna was born without a heart beat but the doctors were able to save her. They also found out that if she would have stayed any longer in my tummy she wouldn't have made it. Conditions were worse than they thought. It's crazy for me to think back on all of this, what a scary experience, but I remember feeling nothing but peace. I put my trust in my Father in Heaven, I didn't understand why but I knew we would be taken care of.

Ceanna was so small. Her hands just barely wrapped around my fingers. She was so red and see through. She did have a lot of hair for how small she was. I loved the hospital we were at in Las Vegas, I was able to hold her when she was only two days old! Many hospitals don't allow this, I am grateful we were able to because her stats would go up every time we held her skin to skin.

Here she is graduated to the level two nursery! So big!

Pictures are so deceiving, here you can kinda gauge how big she was by looking at the pictures and tape recorder in comparison. We recorded us singing songs and reading books to Ceanna, so that when we weren't there she could always hear our voices.

You know all those cute teeny preemie clothes you see in the store? Here is Ceanna wearing one! It's totally drowning her!

At the hospital they have a 3 lbs. party for all the micro preemies. It is such a big milestone to hit 3 lbs. Their chances of survival go up substantially. They let you bring in family and friends for pizza, cake, and ice cream. We had Ceanna's party a little later so she was 4 lbs. and two months old.

The gang that was able to celebrate with us!

Ceanna came home after 80 days in the NICU. She basically just had to do her time. She was healthy. She did have to get eye surgery; because her eyes hadn't finished developing they had to go in with a little laser and make little dots to guide the blood vessels where they needed to go. Otherwise they would have gone all kinds of places and her retinas would detach and she would be blind. She still has to see the eye doctor every year to check on them but other than that she's doing well.
I was able to pump the whole time she was in the NICU and she took to nursing right away. She was 5 lbs. 5 oz. and almost 3 months when she came home. She came home on oxygen but ironically was able to get off oxygen on her due date! I found some off her doctor appointment stats:
3 months: 6 lbs. 6 oz. and 18 3/4 inch long
5 months: 9 lbs. and 21 1/2 inches long
11 months: 13 lbs and 25 1/4 inches long
15 months 15 lbs and 2 oz. and 27 in. long
Crazy!

As you can see from her stats she was a tiny thing. She's going to hate me for this picture, as well as Kydan!, however, I like this picture because it shows that even though she is tiny she still has rolls! :0)

Ceanna loved to eat. She would see a nutritionist to monitor her weight gain. They were never thrilled with how little she weighed and always wanted us to add healthy oils and fats to her diet, which she didn't like and refused to eat. She wanted her veggies plain! We figured as long as she was eating healthy and doing well we weren't to worried about her numbers.

She also saw a developmentalist to make sure she was hitting the normal milestones, like sitting, walking etc. at her adjusted age. (which is the age she would be had she been born on her due date). She always hit those milestones at the appropriate time. When she was walking she was wearing 3-6 month old clothes and it was impossible to go to the store with her. We got stopped constantly because we had a walking 13 lb little girl!

Okay so my three boys have all been born monkeys with so much hair. I know if Ceanna would have baked longer she would have had a head full, however, that wasn't the case and I was dying to do her hair! This picture kills me because you see how desperate I was! I used a little braces rubber band to squeeze that tiny amount of hair in a pony! Oh and I would put little bows in and everything! :0)

For Ceanna's birthday I made, napkin flowers to hang. They turned out cute, and were super easy!

For her birthday dinner she wanted a big bowl of shrimp!

For her cake I had no plans but to make it chocolaty! I think I succeeded in that aspect!

Ceanna has always been really cautious and content. She didn't ever have the desire to learn how to ride a bike without training wheels, until now. And she just hopped on and started riding!

We love you Ceanna and we are so grateful for the miracle we get to witness every day!

May 5th

So......my oldest is 10!?! Seriously? Where did the time go? So I was looking back when Kydan was a baby and just had to post all his cute pics! There were so many I wanted to share I cut way back, nevertheless there are a ton!

In college we had to spend around 6 weeks in Lewiston, Idaho. We brought Kydan with, he was about 3 weeks old when we left. Luckily Kydan was 2 weeks early! Yeah my baby fat on my face is the last to go!

Soccer has begun!

So this year we decided to sign up all three kids for soccer..... I'm not sure what we were thinking! Each one of them plays every Saturday at a different field! Luckily, they never play at the same time! This past Saturday Kydan had a game at 8, Ceanna at 9, and Paysen at 10! It actually was fun! The sun was shining and I enjoyed lounging watching the games. Teegan enjoyed playing on each of the different parks playgrounds! They were all fun games to watch. I like soccer because they run and run and run! Good exercise right?!

4 year olds are by far the funnest to watch! Paysen was so into it! He had the best facial expressions! He slapped his face when the other team scored, and when they would score he did some sort of move! He also would run and skip down the field! What a character!

Now as long as it doesn't rain or is cold on Saturdays we'll be good!

Birthday surprise!

I have no pictures :0( But I had a great birthday surprise! My mom and sister drove down to spend my birthday with me! I was so surprised, I never would have thought they would come down! I was sad to be spending my first birthday away from family, so this was a great surprise! Another equally good gift was Jon watching all the kids so us girls could go out! :0) We went to Tai Pan and actually got to look through the store! We spent two hours there! We then went and had a stress free dinner! It was such a beautiful day, so sunny and warm! I couldn't have asked for anything better! I'm so grateful for such a wonderful family! I wish everyone could have came!

Projects

With a new house comes new projects! The first project we started was in our cold storage. Here is the before picture. Granted this is only a portion of our cold storage room. We've been blessed with tons of storage space and are very grateful.Cheezer!

Tada! It's missing the top shelf we have yet to put on. Now just ten more to build! :0) However we put that on hold because it was more important for us to build all the preschool furniture first!

Our first preschool project was buy far the cheapest and easiest! These are rain gutter bookshelves. One shelf cost $6.00! Screwed them to the wall and wallah....super cute bookshelves! We are going to put smaller ones of these in the kids rooms by their beds.

She gives you the plans, supply list, everything you need to build your own furniture, and she gets her plan ideas from places like Potterybarn. You'd be amazed at what you can build!

Our new house!

This is literally a dream house for me! Last summer when we first came down this street to look at a house I pointed at this house and said, "I want that house!" It unfortunately wasn't for sale! We decided to put an offer on a house across the street. It was a short sale and because school was starting and we needed a place to live, we rented the house. Everyday I would look out the window and see this house and I was envious! :0)
School started and we found out that low and behold, Ceanna's second grade teacher was the owner of this house! He had built this house and the house next door. I mentioned to him that I would gladly trade houses with him! He told me he was thinking of selling because of the market he ended up upside down. He would build several homes during summer break and owns a couple of homes.
As time went on we realized the house we were living in and had an offer on, was probably going to go into foreclosure, the bank wanted way more money then we were willing to spend on that house. Ceanna's teacher knew our house struggles and knew we were once again on a house hunt. In November he knocked on our door and asked us to put an offer on his house!!!! I about fainted!!!! I hadn't even seen inside and I immediately answered yes! We had been praying to be lead and guided to the house we were supposed to buy, and our answer knocked on our door! We went and looked in the inside and it was beautiful! The kitchen was huge and there was so much space! We thought there was no way we would be able to get this house!
Ceanna's teacher was such a blessing to us. He told us he hand picked his buyers! We know that each little step (which at the time we were thinking, "why is this happening" and we were really frustrated) but each step was necessary and we just needed to be patient.
We found out the house we were renting had gone into foreclosure and the house we wanted was accepted at the same time! We had two weeks to be out of our rental home! Timing was perfect. We even had a week to slowly bring our stuff across the street! I am so grateful for a Heavenly Father who loves us and is watching out for us. I truly believe that if you pay your tithing, attend the temple, pray, study scriptures, and attend church you will receive blessings more than you could imagine. That's not to say bad things don't happen. We have had our fair share of those! But we always tried to focus on the positive, all the blessings we did have. Trials make us stronger and make us appreciate more. There is a light at the end!
A cool thing about this house is that it has a "father-in-law" suite (for you dad!). It is two bedroom 1 bath with laundry room, family room and kitchen. This is the separate entrance and it is separate from the main basement family room. I view this place as a blessing if family members ever need a place to stay.
I am grateful for this house, much of the time I don't feel worthy of it. It feels like a vacation home! I'm grateful that we are able to plant our roots and we are in the same ward and the kids go to school just down the street. Miracles do happen! :0)

Basketball season ends

Kydan has had fun this season in basketball. We are proud of him and his good attitude. He loves to play and is a good team mate. He has broken out of his shell a little and some aggressiveness came out! What a great season..... now soccer begins! :0)

Disney on ice!

March 10th

Steph, Marlee and Brody came to visit for several days. We had lots of fun hanging out! One of the highlights of their visit is that we got to go to Disney on ice! The girls got all dressed up!Paysen wanted to dress up too, hence the spiderman costume!

The boys were super excited because it was Worlds of Fantasy, so Cars was going to be there! Cute cousins in their "Kachow" shirts! :0)

This is how Teegan was the entire show! Brody was clapping all through the cars part, but was ready to go home once the princesses came on!

Yay cars! We all wish this segment could have lasted a little longer! It would have also been cool if the kids could have seen them up close.

Kydan's EEG

Kydan's school teachers were concerned that he might be having petit mal seizures or absence seizures. It's where they are unconscious for like 5-15 seconds. They often get misread as daydreaming or starring. They can have these seizures many times a day and get unnoticed. Many times it is the teacher that notices them first during the school day in class. We took him for his well check and the doctor wanted to get him an EEG to rule out the absence seizures. So we took a day trip to Primary Children's hospital.
He was nervous because he didn't know what to expect with all the wires. The doctors were all so nice and made him comfortable. They needed him to try and sleep, they even gave him this cool blanket to keep! Kydan couldn't fall asleep, I on the other hand had no problem taking a little snoozer! They had him hyperventilate by blowing a pinwheel, this can trigger the seizures, as well as flashing a strobe light every 10 seconds

After he said it was fun! We get word back on Thursday but we are pretty confident it will come out normal. Kydan has probably inherited his blank look stares from me! :0) Half the time I'm in lala land! LaLa Land......now that's a great place!
We love you Kydan! You are so easy going and fun to be around. You are such a good example to your brothers and sister. We are happy that you are in our family! Keep up the good work! :0)

G.D.O = Glitter toes!

Today Grandma Adams came up for a girls day out! We went to lunch (we let the boys come with us on this one!) then went and got glitter toes! They turned out super cute! Every girl needs a little sparkle right?! :0) After we went shopping! I wanted to get Kydan a new comforter because the cat had peed all over his, (yuck! so glad we our now pet free!) but we ended up coming home with tons of clothes we got for $1! This sale has been going on at Walmart for a week now! I have gotten so much clothes there for $1 --I'm such a sucker for sales! We had a blast! Oh....I did get a steal on his comforter as well and it's super cute! Grandma Adams also got Jon and I new bedding since we neglect ourselves and have had the same ol' forever! And since it's such a happy occasion because........we got our dream house!!!!!! Yay! We move in next week! Miracles do happen! We are so grateful and feel so blessed, sometimes I even feel guilty! I love the house, it gives me goose bumps! Can't wait to post pics of the house! :0)

Paysen's T1

Paysen wanted me to post the video of him practicing his T1 at karate! He is so funny! I love how all over the floor he is and his hand salute when he says "yes sir!" Oh and you can't forget his cape...because all karate guys need capes!!! :0)

Paysen Karate!

Community Ed was offering an 8 session Karate class, so we decided to let Paysen try it out! We were nervous at first because.....well because it's Paysen! :0) He really enjoyed himself! He was a little goofy at times, he just couldn't get in the serious karate mode! However, this was the most behaved we have seen him! I loved it when he would say yes sir and then he would hand salute!I think it surprised him how easy it was to break the board! Some kids to a couple of times before breaking it. How fun!

This is his best bud Tre! These two play so good together! We are so glad for Tre and his family, they have been such good friends! :0)
